Social Media Today And Your Blog

The Effect of Social Media Today

What can the effect of social media today have on your site? I love social media marketing strategies. There are some people that would suggest that SEO(search engine optimization) is the best strategy to use for your site.

Now I’m not trying to say that social media strategies can trump any SEO efforts that you can come up with, I am merely stating the fact that social media today can have a very positive influence on the traffic of your site.

Social media today is crazy!

I’m not talking about “insane in the membrane” crazy, I’m merely stating that it can be pretty hectic. With that said, you have to have tools that prompt interactivity on your site. You have to have a blog that is user-friendly on the social front so people will be more likely to share your posts.

With the effect of social media today on our blogs and websites, I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns out to be the primary way that a webmaster gets traffic to their site. With Google being on the rampage, it’s almost impossible to create a post that can bring organic traffic to your posts. I’m not saying that it can’t be done, I’m merely saying that when you go to promote these posts organically you are going to have to pick and choose the best way that won’t get you sandboxed later by Google.social media today

How does social media affect your site?

Simple.

First of all you have to create a social media presence online. You need to have connections to be able to share with others online. It always starts out with this first step. Your sharing to your friends and followers on Facebook and Twitter. This will help you establish a base where your connections can share your posts to other social media sites.

Social Media Strategies That You Can Use Today

To keep from getting embarrassed on social media today, there are some marketing strategies that you can use that will help your site get more shares, and basically more traffic.

I realize that you can get referral traffic, and people have the opportunity to share your posts through this type of medium, however, I want to talk about starting from square one on a new blog post. Something no one else has seen but you want to get it out there.

Content is always your most important tool

Whether you are going to ignore this post totally and go out and build links to try to get noticed from SEO, then you still have to remember the content! This is what is going to eventually draw your reader to your post. Whether through SEO or social media, the content is the most important thing.

Bring value to the table. Before anyone will share, they have to come to your site. In order to get them there, you can draw them out with great content that will perk up their interest. Choose topics that people want to learn more about. Can you write something new about a certain point? Sure! No one writes like you do, so stop trying to mimic and copy the guy next to you. Build your own reader base with your own personal opinions drawn from facts with great content.

Build a social media following

social media todayThis is by far one of the most important aspects when it comes to sharing in social media marketing. You’re not dealing with the Google bot in this scenario. People have emotion and feelings, they want to see you interacting, they want to see you sharing their stuff on Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Building confidence in your social base will allow you to create a steady flow of traffic when you do decide to share that great blog post that you just wrote.

In SEO, all you have to do is build links, find suitable blogs to comment on and get your backlink. With social media you have to always be consistent. This more than anything! These are not bots, they are real people that are looking for answers to their real problems. If you play your cards right, you can build a great group of followers by doing this.

Social Media Today & You

Social media today is different for everyone. You can determine your own ranking on social media. You can determine your own traffic flow on social media. However, it depends on just how “social” you can be on these platforms.

  5. Wade,
Great article. I really enjoy that you made the distinction between real people and bots. I’d have to imagine you’re tugging at emotions through titles, right? How do you go about your title selection and what makes it successful? I’m sure you’ve written on this before, but I haven’t seen it quite yet.
